Qinqing (Vivian) Li is a visual artist and creative designer from China, currently based in London. She holds a background in Graphic Communication Design from Central Saint Martins and a postgraduate degree in Digital Direction from the Royal College of Art. Through metaphor and polyphonic storytelling, Vivian highlights overlooked aspects of life, exploring the intersections of ecology, culture, and capitalism.

In her recent From the Ground series, Vivian uses fungi as a central metaphor to challenge conventional perceptions of progress and coexistence. This series integrates immersive experiences, storytelling, oral traditions, and augmented reality, inviting audiences to explore alternative forms of existence beyond capitalist frameworks and uncover the hidden potential of symbiotic living. The From the Ground series also earned her the Digital Edge Standout Winner title in Adobe's Digital Edge Awards. Through critical reflection on materials and their broader ecosystems, Vivian’s interdisciplinary approach reveals the latent possibilities of symbiotic relationships within urban environments, encouraging a reevaluation of our connection to the natural world.

Before 2023, Vivian’s work focused on identity, culture, and the impact of globalisation, with a particular interest in family, society, and personal experience. Her theoretical approach embraces auto-ethnography and the use of self as a lens, examining the connections between identity and culture. By reflecting on her own life experiences, she situates personal narratives within a broader context, providing detailed and introspective analyses that connect individual identity with collective cultural phenomena.
